Ryan Buell

Ryan Buell (born July 8, 1982 in Corry, Pennsylvania) is an American paranormal investigator who founded the Paranormal Research Society when he was a 19-year-old student of Pennsylvania State University. Later, his investigations became the core premise of the A&E show Paranormal State, of which Buell is a consulting producer for. Buell has also written a novel.
Buell was raised in Sumter, South Carolina with his mother, Shelly, who owns a CPA business. His father, Tim, is a Pennsylvania police officer. Buell was editor of his high school paper, and also participated in school plays and the debate team. He also formed and produced a daily news program for the school which aired in the mornings. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Penn State, has re-enrolled to major in anthropology, and plans to attend grad school. He currently lives in State College, Pennsylvania.
