Run C&W was an American country music group composed of lead vocalist Russell Smith, formerly of the Amazing Rhythm Aces; banjoist Bernie Leadon, formerly of the Eagles; and Nashville songwriters Jim Photoglo and Vince Melamed, both of whom played various instruments.[1] In the band, they went by the fictional names of Crashen Burns, Wash Burns, Side Burns, and Rug Burns, respectively.[1]
Run C&W recorded two albums, both on MCA Records: 1993's Into the Twangy-First Century, followed by Row vs. Wade two years later. The band was considered a novelty country act, as their albums contained a mix of parodies and humorous original songs, as well as bluegrass versions of soul songs.[1]
