Rubén Castro Martín (born 27 June 1981 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Deportivo de La Coruña.
Rubén was signed by Deportivo from UD Las Palmas in 2004, in a deal which also saw youngster Momo moving in opposite direction. The deal was agreed in order to wipe out the debt that Las Palmas still had after signing Argentine Gabriel Schürrer from Deportivo for 3.6 million euros.
Rubén scored his first goals for Las Palmas in La Liga in 2001-02, when he came on as a substitute in the 64th minute against Real Madrid with the score at 2-2. The match ended 4-2, courtesy of Rubén. In the 2003-04 season, he was top scorer in the Segunda División with his hometown club, with 22 goals, being then snapped by the Galician outfit.
At the beginning of 2006-07, Rubén was on loan at Racing de Santander, but he left Santander, due to lack of playing opportunities. During the January transfer window, another loan happened, this time to Catalan side Gimnàstic de Tarragona, where he started very well, with 3 goals in his first 3 matches, although the club would be eventually relegated and Rubén returned to Deportivo.
