Rosalie Howarth is a well known syndicated radio personality host based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She hosts two popular KFOG radio shows, Acoustic Sunrise and Acoustic Sunset , as well as the internationally-syndicated Putumayo World Music Hour.
Howarth grew up in Monterey, California. As a teenager she walked the railroad tracks of Cannery Row with a transistor radio glued to her ear, and started visiting San Francisco as a teenybopper in the Summer of Love. Her first radio endeavor was helping to found a non-commercial community station in Pacific Grove, California. Later she moved into rock radio at 1970's free-form progressive FM station KLRB in Carmel, California.
Howarth joined KFOG in the mid-1980s as a weekend DJ and added numerous other responsibilities over time, including programming Acoustic Sunrise. She also serves as director of special programming, producing Live From the Archives each week, drawing on the extensive collection of live KFOG concert recordings.
