Ron Bell was born in Blackpool, Lancashire on 12 January 1955. He is a Blackpool Councillor and the Parliamentary Candidate for the Parliamentary constituency of Blackpool South. Ron was selected by the Blackpool South Conservative Association in June 2007.
Ron was educated at Waterloo Primary and Tyldesley Secondary Modern Schools in Blackpool and is fiercely proud of his hometown. He is married to Brenda and has three daughters Yvonne, Kerry and Melanie.
After leaving school he spent nine years in the Royal Marines and since then has worked in a number of senior board positions with blue chip companies within the banking and finance industry, primarily in Sales and Marketing but also in Training and Operations and in recent years ran his own management consultancy.
He is heavily involved in in local community work and as well as his duties as Talbot Ward Councillor he also serves as a School Governor, a Magistrate, a Member of the Independent Monitoring Board at Kirkham Prison, Vice Chairman of Blackpool Coastal Housing, a founder and Secretary of The Royal Marines Association and holds a number of other non paid Directorships.
