Rombie is a common name for the classification of the monsters in a zombie movie genre that do not fit the exact description of being undead. They are violent and seemingly have no rational thought. They attack on sight and are also infectious. They have many zombie-like characteristics but are still technically alive. The best example of rombies can be seen in 28 Days Later however there are other examples in low budget films such as Zombiez.
Rombies can also be classified as part robot and part zombie, for they are bionic zombies. An example of these rombies would be the Strogg in the videogame "Quake 4" for the Xbox360. These are especially cruel rombies because they convert humans into rombies through an assembly line of rombie transformation. Machine powered by human flesh, such as the Strogg health con tainers in "Quake 4" are not considered rombies, even though they are alive.
