[edit] Plot
Clayton Poole (Jerry Lewis) has had a life-long crush on his friend, Carla Naples (Marilyn Maxwell). Although she isn't married, she becomes pregnant and her agent tries to avoid a scandal by sending her back to the town she grew up in. They devise a scheme where Poole will care for the child once it is born by leaving it on his doorstep. Naples winds up giving birth to triplets and her sister Sandy (Connie Stevens), who is in love with Poole, gets involved. A series of madcap events take place, with everything working out in the end.

Rock-a-Bye Baby was filmed from November 18, 1957-January 8, 1958 and is a remake of the 1944 Betty Hutton film, Miracle of Morgan's Creek.
Two of the original Keystone Kops, Hank Mann and Chester Conklin have bit parts and Lewis' son Gary Lewis plays Clayton Poole as a boy.

Lewis had a top ten hit with the song "Rock-a-bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody" from this movie.

It was re-released in 1962 on a double bill with another Lewis film, Don't Give Up The Ship.
