Roberto Pinotti
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roberto Pinotti was born in Venice, Italy, in 1944. Sociologist, journalist and author; he is the main Italian scholar in ufology.
Since 1960 he has searched for any available documentation or information about the UFO phenomena. Prof. Josef Allen Hynek has recognized Dr. Pinotti as a world-class expert.
Formerly an officer of the NATO Italian Army III Missile Brigade, near Venice, he noticed many unexplained radar signals, that he linked to UFO sightings on the ground. He was the only Italian ufologist to participate in the French Groupement d'Étude des Phénomènes Aérospatiaux Non-identifiés (GEPAN). He organized the first "International UFO Symposium", working for the Republic of San Marino. He is also a writer for the Rivista Aeronautica of the Italian Air Force. Pinotti is also a consultant for the SETI research group, and proponent of several international rules of conduct for post-contact with extraterrestrial intelligent beings.

[edit] "The Big Game" (Il Grande Gioco) and Enrico Fermi's paradox
He has a proposed solution for Enrico Fermi's paradox (briefly: "If extraterrestrials do exist, why haven't they been detected?"). His proposal is that humans live in a sort of indian reserve under an agreement he calls "The Big Game" (Il Grande Gioco) between Earth governments and E.T. beings in order not to reveal themselves. As a sociologist Pinotti explains this arrangement could be aimed at preventing the anomie that might result from a breakdown of traditional assumptions and values.
[edit] 1933 UFO crash near Milan ?
In 2000 he published material regarding the so-called "Fascist UFO Files", which dealt with a flying saucer that had crashed near Milan in 1933 (some 14 years before the Roswell, New Mexico crash), and of the subsequent investigation by a never mentioned before Cabinet RS/33, that allegedly was authorized by Benito Mussolini, and headed by the Nobel scientist Guglielmo Marconi. A spaceship was allegedly stored in a hangar in Vergiate.
[edit] A Sociologist and a Prophecies Scholar
He has a Master's Degree in sociology from the University of Florence. Among his professors were Giovanni Sartori and Luciano Cavalli. In 1982 as a journalist for the Florentine Giornale dei Misteri he found in Rome's National Library the illustrated manuscript Nostradamus Vaticinia, a XVII century codex, partly inspired by drawings of Joachim of Fiore that could prophetize the Popes of the Future.
