Robert Tounson (1575-1621) — also seen as “Townson” and “Toulson” — was Dean of Westminster from 1617-1620, and later Bishop of Salisbury from 1620-1621. He attended Sir Walter Raleigh at his execution, and wrote afterwards of how Raleigh had behaved on that occasion.
Robert Townson is a producer of film soundtrack CDs. Townson has long been a passionate advocate of the art of film scoring. As VP of Varese Sarabande's soundtrack division, Townson runs one of the biggest independent soundtrack labels in the music business. He started out producing soundtracks in his teens. A friend of many composers, most notably Jerry Goldsmith and Alex North, Townson has gone on to produce over 900 recordings and counting in his career.
