Robert Richard "Robbie" Threlfall (born 28 November 1988 in Liverpool) is a young footballer, currently on the books of Liverpool. He is also an avid Liverpool fan, although this has only come about through playing for Liverpool because in his younger days was a season ticket holder for Everton and was also in the Everton youth academy for a while. Threlfall is a highly rated promising left-back, although he can also play as a centre-back, who was part of the Reds' FA Youth Cup winning sides of 2006 and 2007. He was promoted from the Academy to the senior set up at Melwood at the start of the season 06/07.
He made his first senior appearance for the club against Wrexham in a pre-season friendly. Since then Robbie has been a regular in the Liverpool Reserves, also making his England Under-19 debut against Poland in Bournemouth on 6th February 2007. Since then Robbie has continued to play for the reserves and capped off a wonderful season by winning the FA Youth Cup for a 2nd successive year running at the expense of Manchester United, overturning a 2-1 deficit from the first leg at Anfield to win the 2nd leg 1-0 to force extra time and subsequently penalties, which Liverpool won 4-2. Robbie scored a goal that proved to be the decisive marker at Old Trafford and also converted one of the penalties in the shoot out. His performance on the night earned him the Man of the Match award.
He spent much of the 2007-08 season on loan at Hereford United, however an injury restricted his appearances.
