As the Derwent enters the River Ouse above the Trent Falls it empties into the Ouse as this does not become the Humber until after the falls. It is the Hertford River which rises near Filey, not the Derwent. The Hertford is a tributary of the Derwent.(See British Ordnance Survey Maps.)Harkey Lodger 18:46, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I am researching this article at the moment. Does anyone have good images, particularly of Barmby Barrage?--Harkey Lodger 19:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

There is more to follow. I am currently trying to locate historical images.Harkey Lodger 16:45, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

The natural history section is being used inappropriately by hoaxers, niether names mentioned have any online references. The spelling and punctuation suggest immature users, as do the edits. If anyone can verify the statements, please do. According to many historians, Helwath Beck, a tributary from Jugger Howe Beck, was first descovered by english conservationist and doctor, Dr Kyle Simpson[citation needed].--Harkey Lodger 07:49, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox image.

The image of the Derwent catchment area has "jumped out" of the infobox. Can anyone fix this,please?--Harkey Lodger 11:46, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Do not see the problem. Is it browser specific? Keith D 12:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Possibly, I'm on IE7. Does anyone else see a problem, or have I got "gremlins"!!!?--Harkey Lodger 13:34, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I am using IE6 at the moment, will look later at Firefox when I get home to see if there is a problem there. Keith D 13:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Just checked and no problem with Firefox 1.5.0.10 Keith D 18:56, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Does the problem persist? I was making some minor adjustments to the subtemplate that handles map display in the Geobox, you might've displayed the page at a moment I saved a buggy version. But it should be OK now in, tested in Opera 9, Firefox 2.0.something (both Win XP and Ubuntu) and IE-that-comes-with-XP. – Caroig 21:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

The map image is now fixed. It was still causing a problem at 08-00GMT but has now "jumped back".I also emptied my cache. Thanks everyone.--Harkey Lodger 13:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Route diagrams/maps

I have added a river features/route map to the Barmby section. Others to come later if they are OK--Harkey Lodger (talk) 18:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Restructuring

As the guidelines Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about rivers‎ suggest starting lists etc. starting at the mouth, I am considering restructuring this article to have the text structured that way too. Any comments?--Harkey Lodger (talk) 18:28, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

It's not working well. Starting at the mouth for a description of the course makes for difficult reading.Back to the drawing board, I guess.--Harkey Lodger (talk) 16:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
