Riverside Military Academy was chartered in 1906 and opened for classes in September 1908. Its founders were Professors Haywood Jefferson Pearce and Azor W. Van Hoose, Jr., longtime proprietors of all-female Brenau College in Gainesville. In 1913, a young educator named Sandy Beaver became president of the academy, and in 1915 he gained ownership of it. Beaver would go on to run Riverside for the next 56 years. [1]

Riverside Military Academy has an enrollment of approximately 400 students. [2] Tuition for boarding students is $26,400 a year ($28,400 for international students); for day students, $14,500. [3] [4]
