River Levern

The River Levern, also known as the Levern Water, is a small river in East Renfrewshire, Scotland.
The Levern has its source in Loch Long, and for a few miles divides parts East Renfrewshire, passing the village of Neilston and town of Barrhead, and uniting its waters with those of the White Cart Water.[1]
The Levern Valley anciently formed part of the Kingdom of Strathclyde, whilst during the Industrial Revolution, the River Levern facilitated the socioeconomic growth of parts from East Renfrewshire by providing water power for cotton mills as well as homes.[2]
