Vandalism - please block this user again

Hi, about a week ago you blocked 208.57.63.2 temporarily. This user has continued his long pattern of vandalism and I urge you to place a permanent block on that IP address if possible. Thanks for your help. Dce7 15:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Capitalization

Hey, Thanks for all you work on Capitalization - especially on Japanese articles/bands. I think L'Arc~en~Ciel probably needs an overhaul. Macgruder 13:34, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I added a capitalization cleanup template. It's too much effort to argue about Wikipedia policy and explain it so I thought a template might help. It's a bit longer than most templates but most of these discussions are about all caps and "that's how 'they/the band' write it so I thought I'd put the basic rules in the template. Macgruder 15:56, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

XBox 360 LIVE vs. Live

I noticed you mention the capitalizatoin issue in the Xbox 360 article. LIVE is the (TM) from Microsoft, and for consistency, i cant see why it shouldnt reflect that in the article. For instance, if you goto the iPod article, you'll find "strange" capitalization. Perhaps that should be changed to Ipod? Wageslave 20:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for butchering the External Quake Links

This (Wikipedia) is not an open directory - ReyBrujo.

Please could you explain exactly what criteria you used when deleting certain external links, while keeping others? I assume that since you feel that you have the right to delete information on Wikipedia, you can of course explain the relevance of your choices? For example, you kept QuakeServers.net, which is a very helpful site that lists active Quake servers, but why? You have deleted sites which explained in detail how to actually connect to these servers - something which QuakeServers.net does not do. You have deleted a site which has a complete list all known single player & deathmatch Quake maps, and yet you have kept the interesting, but relatively useless Mobygames.com Quake page link. Why keep the link to this commercial site, while almost all the other sites you deleted are non-commercial?

Everybody in the Quake 1 scene already knows where the (external) Quake sites are. The links were for people outside the scene, that maybe wanted... you know... information. I run the 5th Google ranked Quake website on the Internet. I don't need to "pimp" my site on Wikipedia, and neither does anybody else who's site link you delete. I submit to you sir, that you have little knowledge of Quake, and the site links you deleted were random. It is obvious to me, that you are one of these people that edits Wikipedia for the sake of it.

Wikipedia is about information is it? Perhaps to you it is about little people running around feeling important by imposing their interpretation of the Wikipedia guide lines. Perhaps you feel more eminently qualified to decide what should or should not be included in the list of External Quake Site links, than the people who have been involved in running the Quake scene for the past 10 years.

Provide a complete explaination of the methodology and critia used for deleting certain links while keeping others, or revert your changes ASAP. -- Megazoid 11:04, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Your reply is cut and paste waffle, and exactly the sort of thing I would expect from your type of self appointed "guardian of Wikipedia". I have no interest in your knowledge of the rules of Wikipedia. You deleted more links again simply to bolster your own ego, and prove your point. Fine, whatever.
It is clear that you have little knowledge of Quake, but also no knowledge of the sites who's links you deleted. They were not "fan sites", but sites that collectively host the majority of the Quake files and content left on the Internet. Now you have links to sites within the main body of the article, that you do not deem worthy of listing the External Links section. Ironic.
Anyway, it is pointless complaining about this. Somebody with 30,000 "contributions" to Wikipedia is obviously right. I'm not going to waste my time proving why links should or should be not on a Wikipedia article. I have a fair idea other Wikipedia "moderators" would endlessly back you up. At the end of the day, you have simply deprived people of information, and I submit, missed the spirit of a free online encyclopedia. I will perhaps take the matter further, but outside the confines of Wikipedia. I assume you don't control Google right? ;) Megazoid 20:13, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

re: Deleted user talk page

Hey there! I noticed you deleted Some Stuff. OK!. However, note that, in fact, that article was the talk page of LooneyGeoffrey (talk · contribs), who moved it to My Talk and then to there (check the log). I suggest restoring the talk page to the user, since I don't see a valid reason for deleting it, and there are some warnings there. Cheers! -- ReyBrujo 18:20, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Oops, my mistake. I looked at it. In the meantime, new messages have been posted at his talk page. I don't know how to restore his old talk, while retaining these new messages. Do you? If you would like to just do it, you can. Thank you, Fang Aili talk 21:01, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Ryan Postlethwaite being a dick

Cheers for your words of clarity during my recent tantrum, I've decided to return from my 20 minute wikibreak with a slightly bruised ego! I guess the moral is, when you've had a really crap day at work, the best thing to do is stay off wiki and go and get drunk instead. Sorry for being a dick! Thanks again - Ryan Postlethwaite 00:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Commons

I was wondering, how do I move some of the pictures I have uploaded to the Wikipedia over to the Commons area? Example, I would like to move Image:Arial Stillman Photo.jpg over to it. How would I got about doing that?--Kranar drogin 05:54, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

During the creation of the article List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, User:Resolute tagged it with {{db-empty}}, because it was empty. I started to fill it, and that user removed the tag. Now, User:TTN condsiders for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy. Could you please take a look at List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, it's talk page, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars? Thanks! Taric25 07:17, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, you're right that it needs more sources as well as rewriting. I wrote the entire article myself in less than a week, but I do have quite a bit of sources, such as Game Informer, Nintendo Power, and the game's manual. I also just ordered a book about video games from another library so I could get some citations from it. Do you think the article could have a future, like List of Final Fantasy VII locations or World of Final Fantasy VIII? Taric25 03:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Input

Hello Rey. I am looking for some additional input on an issue that has arose. First take a look at Category:Amtrak stations and specifically Category:Amtrak stations in Illinois. The large majority of these stations are not inherently notable, other than the fact that there train stations, which are seemingly a dime a dozen. Are these article worthy? I am looking for a second opinion, I am thinking about taking the whole lot to AfD, this is just too much, almost none list any sources and don't seem to have any hope of being expanded beyond stubs. I posted on Talk:Plano (Amtrak station) but to no avail. What do you think? IvoShandor 07:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

In the time since I posted that message I contacted the Trains project and had a lengthy discussion with them. IvoShandor 04:32, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thank you for the barnstar; I appreciate it very much. --MZMcBride 02:32, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

I think I misinterpreted how the importance scale works. I was under the impression it was the overall importance to Wikipedia, not just to the project. So it is importance to the project? I think most of what I've placed down should be good but feel free to go in and correct it. Thanks for the fixes. DoomsDay349 20:29, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Rin and Kagura

You recently protected Rin (InuYasha). There is a similar edit war at Kagura (InuYasha). It would be more useful to simply ban BorisTheBlade (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) and his puppet ManiacMikey (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) for pushing their ant-footware and pro-barefoot ideology. Look at their contributions, they are affecting many articles. JRSpriggs 10:21, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Sonic The Hedgehog

Check the source I provided. "Sonic The Hedgehog" IS a proper name, "The" is officially the characters middle name. To have the article be at "Sonic the Hedgehog" would be like having the article on David Alan Grier at "David alan Grier". TJ Spyke 03:48, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

It IS a proper name though. If a real life person had "The" as their legal middle name, would you insist we still capitalize it as "the" for their article? I will ask at WP:NAME, but it should be capitalized since it is the characters middle name and thus a proper noun. TJ Spyke 04:10, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Koda Kumi song pages need your help!

If you've either been watching pages of Kumi's discography, or looking through their histories, you would have discovered that this guy called ADDHOC has been blanking out many of her pages (eg the "Best ~Bounce & Lovers~" Page) and redirecting them back to the Koda Kumi main page. I have, of course, reverted the changes and approached him, and his reply was that many of her song pages do not have references. I have requested some time from him to search for sources (because I think those pages must continue existing). I'm worried he wouldn't relent, so I'm turning to you (and XaiTerran as well) for help to search for sources. (I approached you because I see that you have been participating actively in editing the Koda Kumi page as well as engaging in discussions.) So, please, do us all a favor and help out as much as you can. Thank you very very much in advance. — 0612 (TALK); Posted: 12:41, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Pecos conference

rey brujo I put up the pecos conference stub article and you took it down. it should be put up and returned for viewing. I own the domain name www.swanet.org and all of the pecos conference web pages. I wrote all of the text on those pages. I put up a pecos conference web page on wikipedia so my colleagues might contribute to it, and I have asked them to do so. the article needs restoration immediately. If you look at www.swanet.org the editor of that page b.starbucks@gmail.com has written an e-mail to wikipedia requesting the page be restored and giving permission to post the article. Thanks Brian Kenny www.swanet.org b.w.kenny@gmail.com, dog.yrs@gmail.com, b.starbucks@gmail.com —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.223.72.142 (talkcontribs).

Irish Farmers' Association

Hello, You took down my page on the Irish Farmers' Association, it should be reinstated because I am a member of the association who was asked to create a page on wikipedia for them by management. I am a member of the Cork branch of the association and I did this with full permission for the head of my branch-I am not violating any copyright.

Please reinstate my article-it is an organization with 85,000 members and we need a page.

Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SegaBOY32 (talkcontribs).
