[edit] Category naming

Are we going to use the naming convention "Replaceable fair use to be decided after X", or "Replaceable fair use as of X"? Right now, both are being used, resulting in a mish-mash of confusingness. Let's pick one and include it in the instructions. Grandmasterka 02:24, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I commented here about that. One template is giving a 48 hour timer, and another is giving 7 days. That's not really that big a deal though, and doesn't imply that we need two categories for them. One template should just put them in one day, and the other in another. Anyway, Unless there are any objections I am going to set the 48 hour one to use "Replaceable fair use as of X" since that's what all the other categories use as syntax. - cohesion 17:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Ok, the templates have been changed, both go to the same category, but different days, more discussion at Template talk:AutoReplaceable fair use people. - cohesion 12:24, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unfair use in these categories

Is there a way of automatically adding __NOGALLERY__ to all the disputed fair use categories (as in the case of Category:Images with no fair use rationale)? This is quite important, as we are displaying thumbnails of dozens of non-free media files! Papa November 15:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

This is a non-free content criteria exemption per Category:Wikipedia non-free content criteria exemptions. People feel that seeing the image aides their search for a free replacement. The category you stated also is an exception though, so maybe people want to hide these? It would be easy to add NOGALLERY if people want to. - cohesion 00:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
