René Berger (1915- ) is a Swiss writer, philosopher and a historian of art.

Berger has made numerous contributions to magazines and reviews. He has also produced radio and television programs. He participates regularly in many international conferences, congresses. juries, seminars and colloquia. Berger pursues research in new technologies as they relate to our emerging technoculture.
He has won numerous international awards, among them the Golden Laser (Locarno, 1987), the Picasso Medal (UNESCO, 1989).
René Berger is the father of Jacques-Edouard Berger and the president of the foundation Jacques-Edouard Berger.
