Welcome to my bio page. Yes, you heard me right. I know Wikipedia is not a blog, but that's not the purpose of having this short little history here which doesn't even include that much of my life outside Wikipedia. This page is here because I think that maybe by understanding me and the situations surrounding my time on Wikipedia, you can understand a little about my philosophies and how I think. Of course, you're probably going to ignore this page, but that's ok, too.

[edit] A Quick "About Me"
I take my internet username from the legendary phoenix, the bird of flames. I've got my own view of the phoenix and I don't exactly agree with other views on this creature, and I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, if you're wondering where this stems from. This username is a standard of mine on just about every website that I has an account for, though usually with a lowercase "r".
I am a hardcore gaming fanatic who plays many diverse types of games, especially of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Super Smash Bros. (as well as Melee, where I play as Marth, and Brawl, where I play as Lucario.), and the Star Fox series of games.
In addition to this, I am a fan of heavy metal and classic rock. My favorite bands include Ozzy Osbourne, Dragonforce, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Powerman 5000 (the older stuff and the Transform album), and Crush 40.
I am also a sports fan of the Indianapolis Colts and every team at Indiana University, where I attend college. I also support my hometown teams, the Fort Wayne Komets, the Fort Wayne Freedom, the Fort Wayne Wizards, and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
[edit] My Biography Outside Wikipedia
Okay, I'm going to keep this section short and sweet, per WP:UP#NOT. I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I've lived there for most of my years. As of now, I am a college student at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. I am still shy of my 18th birthday by a couple months.
[edit] Discovering Wikipedia and History on Wikipedia
I used to avoid Wikipedia all of the time because I believed it was mostly, if not completely, garbage. Now, I know today that's not true, though I have been tempted to vandalize the Purdue University article because of school rivalry. Just kidding, of course, I've never done it, though I think my chemistry professor has (he did it in class in front of everyone). Anyway, I created an account in August of 2007, just to make a couple edits here and there. Where I really started, though, was my finding the article for Crush 40 in January of 2008.
I hit the article when I was looking for information, and following what was going on, the article was really in a slum type of state, and even ended up on an AfD after a little while. Luckily, with quite a bit of cleanup and a hell of a rant (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Crush 40), I saved the article and have made it respectable. I'm hoping to nominate it for a GA ranking now after a little more work. I've been constantly working on it since the issue came up.
Shortly after that, I became engrossed in becoming an assessor. I started with WikiProject Video Games and assessed about 60 unassessed articles. I did it fairly, studied what ranking in both quality and importance was most fitting for all articles, and edited the tags for these articles.
Then I found WikiProject Sega, which at the time had only two members: Gaogier, the founder, and Doktor Wilhelm, another editor who has really taken charge since then. I joined up with them and became the third real full-time member, starting up a new assessment department there. I have since assessed probably 300-500 articles for the project since then.
When Gaogier was indefinitely blocked for a couple of disputes and other situations, Doktor Wilhelm and I rushed to keep WikiProject Sega up and running, and we succeeded. Since then, we've had another full-time member join in Fairfieldfencer, another editor who has been very helpful to the project. Both of these users I consider as friends of mine, though we've never met in real life (they both live in Britain and I'm an American, so there's pretty much no way).
Editing articles has become my passion since then, though I find that finding sources is a pain in the ass sometimes. I still do assessments too, being the only real full-time assessor at WikiProject Sega. I must be addicted to Wikipedia, I swear.
I've had a couple debates before with deletionist-mergist-redirectionist Wikipedians over whether or not certain articles should be merged. It's been since then that I've anchored myself as a moderate eventualist, a general inclusionist, and an incrementalist.

Yes, every man must have biases, so let me explain mine. In politics, I'm somewhat moderate, but I can't stand the United States Democratic Party, so I tend to side with the Republican party. This is why I don't edit political articles; it's not worth the argument and having my loyalty questioned, as I really don't have much of any. And no, I'm not a supporter of Bush.
When it comes to fanship, yes, I'm a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and detest seeing damage done to those articles and content removed. But I try to abide by Wikipedia policy as much as possible, though I think my definition of notability is a little looser than most others, and I believe that an article should be kept even if notability hasn't been established yet but it can.
