Red Deer Lake is a fresh water lake situated near Bashaw in central Alberta, Canada.
The 15 kilometers (9 mi) long lake is located northwest of the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 53, in Camrose County. The lake is drained through a series of marshes into the Battle River.
David Thompson established a fur trading post for the North West Company on the shores of the lake in 1798.
The name also applies to a swamp just south-west of Calgary, Alberta, which is the reminant of a fresh water lake; and to the surrounding area, and a school situated nearby. The swamp was once a small fresh-water lake, but mostly dried up.
