The information for this article was first compiled on the authors personal website. As it took shape, it was desired to place it in the public domain as a piece of history. All of the material was collected from the public domain. Much of the material was from press releases and brochures handed out at company open houses. Employment numbers were obtained from the "International Economic Development Council" which was compiled by the Berks [County] Economic Partnership for Greater Reading and Berks County, PA. [1]
I have gone through the Wikify process and to the best of my knowledge the status is:

How to use this template | Template by The Thadman

On thing I haven't addressed is that there is an ambiguity with an organization for promoting literacy that is also called "Reading Works". They don't have an article and I am not familiar as to what kind of organization they have. The Reading Works in this article was a factory. - Rhodyman 22:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Please cite the sources that you used to compile the information on your site; not the site itself. Also, perhaps my Wikify tag was not applicable to my primary concern, which is with regards to the method in which the references are presented. I recommend footnoting the references. Whenever I get a chance, I will see if I can tend to it; but that likely will not be for a week or two. --Bossi (talk ;; contribs) 16:02, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
My sources are varied and unfortunately I may have trouble finding some sources. This work was done starting in 1990 and used every document I could get my hands on. Much of the information is from company brochures handed out during open houses and write ups submitted to newspapers for their feature sections on local industry. I also used newspaper articles that were verified with company memos sent to employees with information similar to what was in the newspaper. I am searching for some of the old brochures. I can reference some things to the books.–Rhodyman 18:16, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citations and references

I have found the newspaper citations and a Western Electric pamphlet, so the citations are in much better shape. Rhodyman 02:47, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Image135.gif

Image:Image135.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
