Rayson Tan (simplified Chinese: 陈泰铭; pinyin: Chén Tàimíng) is a Singaporean actor with MediaCorp TV. Before joining Mediacorp as an actor, Tan was a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines. In 1990, Rayson Tan emerged as the 2nd Runner Up in Singapore's Star Search Talent Competition. Rayson has been awarded many different roles and hosting opportunities, such as the recent PSC Night, together with fellow Singaporean actors Michelle Chong and Li Teng. Rayson has been nominated multiple times in the annual Star Awards including a 'Best Supporting Actor' nomination which he lost out to fellow actor Huang Yiliang.
In 1997, he was voted as being one of the top 10 most popular male artistes on Singapore TV.
Tan is currently married to fellow Mediacorp artiste Chen Li Ping. They have a son named Xavier.
Tan was sued in 2003 by another MediaCorp artiste, Andrea De Cruz for seling her pills of weight-loss drug Slim 10, which caused Andrea's liver to break down, almost killing her. Luckily, Andrea's husband Pierre Png donated part of his liver to her. Tan was found innocent in cour as he did not know that the Slim 10 pills were harmful.
He has most recently been portraying a scheming lawyer who later turned crazy in the recent drama series, The Homecoming.
