Rav Alkohen is a Jerusalemite Kabbalist studying in Yeshivat HaMekubalim Nahar Shalom. He currently resides in Jerusalem with his wife and children.

Born in New Jersey was given a secular education. While in sixth grade he entered a college scholarship competition requiring him to take the SAT's. He scored a 1450. Was later given multiple IQ tests, and found to have an IQ ranging between 183-210 depending on the test. While in college he made began to identify with Orthodox Judaism. Began former training in Rabbinics after graduation from college and within a year passed the Israeli Rabbinute Semicha exams. Having previously learned bits of Kabbalah piecemeal from various sources. While in Jerusalem for his ordination exams, he met and befriended Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, who urged him to apply his learning talents to the world of Kabbalah. After a brief return to the United States, Rav Alkohen made Aliyah to Israel and began full time studies in Kabbalah, while continuing his education in other areas of Jewish learning. He is also a Sofer, Mohel, and Shochet.
