[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ratm-grandolypmic.jpg

Image:Ratm-grandolypmic.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Revolution

I removed the song "You Can Kill the Revolutionary, But You Can't Kill the Revolution" (aka "You Can't Kill the Revolution," or more commonly just "Revolution") from the discography because it was under music videos - the song was never released let alone have a video made for it! The song is actually a collaboration between Rage and Tool, not just the front men of these bands. The song was intended to be on the soundtrack for the film Judgment Night but it never happened, so perhaps this could slot into the soundracks section. Better actually would be a new section that has all the unreleased songs in it, such as "Hit the Deck," "Mindsets a Threat" etc. --LeakeyJee (talk) 13:10, 17 March 2008 (UTC) Sources: [1], [2], [3], [4].

Sounds like a good idea, by all means go ahead. скоморохъ 13:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I had made a small table for such, but someone undid it and put it under music videos. Blackguards_Light //Evil turning good// —Preceding comment was added at 13:36, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

OK, here's what I've done. I think it needs a few references but I don't know how to do them so could someone have a go at thos?. Also the song Producer probably should be in there, but I don't have much info on that. Does anyone think the song "Here I Come" that the band recorded with DMX but never released should be in there too?

Year Track Notes
circa 1991 "Hit tha Deck" Performed at early shows, though never recorded.
1991 "Mindsets a Threat" Appeared as track 8 on the bands early demo tape.
1991 "Autologic" Appeared as track 10 on the bands early demo tape.
1991 "Narrows" Appeared as track 11 on the bands early demo tape.
circa 1993 "Revolution" Recorded with the band Tool with the intention for it to be on the Judgment Night film soundtrack. This fell through to to internal differences within the bands. Also known as "You Can't Kill The Revolution" and "You Can Kill The Revolutionary, But You Can't Kill The Revolution."
circa 1993 "Bombtrack (Acoustic Version)" Recorded for a BBC radio show, and lyrics from Without A Face are contained within this song. The song is not technically acoustic as it contains electric guitar and bass.
circa 1995 "People of the Sun - Original Lyrics" Early demo recording from the Evil Empire sessions, the lyrics in the verses were later completely overhauled.
Unknown "Hadda Be Playing on the Jukebox - Studio Version" Never officially released. The lyrics are taken from a peom by Allen Ginsberg.
Thanks, now put it into the article! Blackguards_Light //Evil turning good//

Isnt "hadda be playing on the jukebox a live track, is there a source to say it has a studio version? Also "fuck da police" is a live cover, that may be notable because its on most of their discography torrents.--82.35.192.193 (talk) 13:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Featured list

This discography definitely has the potential to become a featured list, and with a little collaboration it's really not too far off. So, if anyone here is better versed in RATM lore than me, there's a few things which could do with ironing out:

  • Sources for the US sales figures. I think they're available if you pay, but they'll be in print elsewhere too. If anyone can locate reputable sources, then post them here!
  • A source for how "Killing in the Name" was banned on MTV.
  • A source for the note for the "Bullet in the Head" video too.
  • Ideally, an article should be created for the band's early demo tape. That way, the unreleased material could be linked back to something. If anyone knows anything about it, that would be awesome.

Let's get this show on the road. Seegoon (talk) 17:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I'll start by making a page for the demo tape - it'll be a stub but there really should be a page for it. --LeakeyJee (talk) 04:55, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

The certifications are sufficient for a featured list status, just look at other FLs, they only list the certifications, and no SoundScan sales. Gocsa (talk) 23:01, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
