Radikal is a daily Turkish language newspaper, published in Istanbul. It has been published since 1996 on behalf of Doğan Media Group (Doğan Medya Grubu), a large publishing and communications firm owned by Aydın Doğan in Turkey.
Radikal, unlike many daily newspapers in Turkey, does not seem to support a certain political party because the owner, Aydın Doğan, wants to keep his relations well with anyone who is in power. However, it is generally considered as a left-wing (democratic socialist) newspaper, indeed it is a very liberal democrat newspaper. Ironically, compared to Cumhuriyet, Radikal is considered by many[who?] to be much moderate, open-minded, and tolerant[citation needed]. It is praised for its culture, arts, and interview sections, as well as columnists such as M. Serdar Kuzuloglu, Hakki Devrim, Turker Alkan, Altan Oymen, Nuray Mert, Murat Belge and Gunduz Aktan. Mine G. Kirikkanat used to write for Radikal before she got fired after harshly criticizing the Turkish nation [1]. Hasan Celal Guzel, former minister of education, Murat Yetkin, and Mustafa Akyol, son of Taha Akyol, also write for Radikal.
In 2007, Orhan Pamuk and Sezen Aksu became Radikal's temporary editor-in-chief on January 9th and 14th, respectively.
Radikal has a small circulation around the 50,000 mark. [2]), but it occupies a significant place in Turkish politics and culture. The U.S. Embassy in Ankara, for example, also receives a daily copy, which an "objective" indicator where almost all of the copies of newspapers in Turkey are delievered to several embassies

- Yaşam (Life) - usually with health and entertainment articles from Turkey and the world
- Politika - with political news, focusing on domestic
- Dış Haberler - with foreign news
- Yorum - opinion pieces, editorials
- Ekonomi - economic news
- Spor - sports news
- Kültür/Sanat - with cultural and art news
The paper also publishes 3 regular suplemental pages:
- Kitap (Book) - relating to books
- Cumartesi (Saturday) - usually with weekend entertainment and news
- Radikal 2 - standard extra news, sports and entertainment
Radikal publishes an online edition with the printed articles, updated daily. The online edition also includes Sıcak Haber, a section of breaking news.
