From a worldview standpoint, most rappers are white in a lot of European countries. I dare say it's only a big deal socially in the US. Is anyone seriously invested in this article, or can we delete it on these grounds?--Urthogie 04:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I think the lists should go. No one really needs a list of white rappers, since--as you say--in regions where there are few black people, virtually all rappers will be white. However, the article itself should remain because the stereotype of a bumbling, clueless, posing white rapper occurs often enough in pop culture. For example the existence of the character Ali G and the silly film Malibu's Most Wanted depend entirely upon this comic stereotype. How about we create an article called Race in hip hop. White rappers, from a world standpoint are simply not a notable thing to discuss-- they're only notable in America. We could cover their significance in America, though. Whos with me on this?--Urthogie 04:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I just deleted the pointless lists from the article. I think the archetype of a "white rapper" is notable in and of itself, but we should add some links to reliable sources that discuss the phenomenon. Besides the VH1 series already mentioned, the "white rapper" stereotype is a rather common butt of jokes in American TV and film. That being said, I'm not against merging this into a Race in hip hop article.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 13:54, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, because I don't think the white rapper archetype is notable outside of America. It's somewhat notable in other white countries that have had slavery or oppression, but not as much.--Urthogie 20:28, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
