Rachi, Achaea

Rachi or Rahi (Greek: Ράχη), rarely Rakhi, is a village located 100 m north of the present spot of GR-1/E55 (Patras - Pyrgos). Rachi is part of the municipality of Movri. The village is part of the community of Sageika. Rachi is located 1 km east of Sageika and west of Sageika. Residential buildings are within the old highway and the road to Apostoloi. Rachi is bypassed to the south with GR-1/E55, before the early-to mid-1980s, the road ran through Rachi and the road linking north to Apostoli while the south is primarily a rural road. The intersection between the mid to late 1990s in Rachi to the east formerly existed which is now eliminated. Rachi is located 30 km SW of Patras, about 50 km S of the Rio-Antirio Bridge, about 10 km SW of Kato Achaia, about 65 km (old: 70 km) NE of Pyrgos and about 40 km (old: 45 km) from Kyllini.

Farmlands cover much of Rachi. Forests and groves dominate the northwest and the north along with the east and along with a stream flowing from a valley in the Movri mountains to the west.
In the 1950s, Rachi became connected with pavement at the highway, the road to Apostoloi was later paved in the 1990s.
