[edit] Rachau Hillclimb
From 1995 to 2004 Rachau had hosted a hillclimbing event. This had the objective that riders on motorbikes and also quadbikes and even the occasional car or converted jetski / snowmobile had attempted to ride up as far up the hillside as possible without falling off the bike (with the rider reaching the furthest distance winning the event). This was televised across Europe on Eurosport and had attracted a trackside audience of 10,000 to 30,000 people. It also had sponsorship from the energy drink Red Bull.
