Cambodia has various dates and ceremonies that are considered to be a special part of the Cambodian calendar year:

23 May | Royal Plowing Ceremony | This public holiday corresponds to the start of the planting season. |
18 June | Queen Mother's Birthday | The Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk's Birthday. |
24 September | Constitution Day | Celebrates the signing of the Cambodian constitution by King Sihanouk. |

9 November | Independence Day | Celebrates Cambodia's independence from France in 1953. |
November 11-13 | Water Festival | Bonn Om Teuk in Khmer. Boat races on the Tonle Sap in Phnom Penh celebrate the time when the water in the river reverses course. |
10 December | Human Rights Day | Commemorates the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. |
