Preis der Diana

The Preis der Diana, sometimes referred to as the German Oaks, is a Group 1 flat horse race in Germany open to three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 2,200 metres (approximately 1 mile 3 furlongs) at Düsseldorf Racecourse, Düsseldorf and takes place annually, presently in early August.

It was first run in 1857 in Berlin, where it remained until 1944. The race was not run in the following two years and after a solitary race at Düsseldorf it moved to Mülheim in 1948, where it continued until 2003. The next two runnings took place at Hamburg, arriving at its present venue in 2006. It is the German version of the Epsom Oaks and Prix de Diane and it attained Group 1 status in 2001.

Prior to 2008 the race took place in late May or early June.
