The Potez XV was a French two-seat observation biplane designed as a private venture by Louis Coroller and built by Potez and under licence in Poland.
[edit] Development
The prototype Potez XV was displayed at the 1921 Paris Air Show, it was conventional biplane with a fixed tailskid landing gear and a nose mounted 370hp (276kW) Lorraine 12D engine. The engine was later replaced by a 300hp (224kW) Renault 12Fe. After a successful evaluation the aircraft was ordered by the Aéronautique Militiare with the first aircraft delivered in 1923. The production aircraft were powered by a Lorraine 12Db engine.
The aircraft was exported to Denmark (8), Spain (12) and Romania (120). A slightly modified variant the Potez XVII was exported to Bulgaria (30). Poland received a small batch of aircraft which were followed by 135 licence-built aircraft.
