Polemonium carneum (Royal Jacob's Ladder ) is a plant native to western side of the Cascade Mountains in NW Washington, south to San Francisco Bay, California. It grows in the lowlands and in prairies to moderate elevations in the mountains. Inhabits woody thickets, open and moist forests, prairie edges, roadsides.
Description: herbaceous perennial 12 to 40 in. (31–102 cm). Leaflets 11 to 21 with sticky hairs. The flowers pendent in whorls, corolla 2–3 cm long, variously colored from white to pink or orange-yellow (salmon) color or even purple.
