[edit] Cyber Nations
A tag has been placed on Cyber Nations, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Cyber Nations is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Cyber Nations saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions. Calton | Talk 04:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- It isn't a repost, it's a 100% rewrite.Pious7 17:37, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you for your level-headedness
Thank you for your level-headedness on the NationStates AFD. Although I chose to endorse the most recent deletion of CyberNations, an article probably isn't too far off. I agree with Guy on the deletion review: if the source from Norway was about the game itself and not an incident, we might not be having that discussion right now. – Chacor 02:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion Review closed
The deletion review has now been closed. There is a multi-paragraph closer's comment inside the collapsed review. The short form, write a new article under the guidance at Wikipedia:Amnesia test. GRBerry 15:29, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I can't really do anything about the SPA tag that was placed. If you read the full closing comment, I only discarded two opinions as new single purpose accounts. I can assure you that yours was not one of them.
- As to the catch-22 feeling. You have one userspace version at a user subpage, User:Pious7/Cyber Nations. Some one else has one as well. The article can be rewritten on a user sub-page, either that one or elsewhere. You can encourage other people to work on it with you. User space pages are not sancrosanct pages which only that user can edit. Look at the history of one of my user sub-pages; only 20 of between 350 and 400 edits are from me. The deletion review gives some guidance as to what to do. In addition to my close comments, take a look at the opinions from Angus McLellan, Guy, and Night Gyr. (Yeah, we all sound similar in our advice; there is a reason for that.) BJ's opinion doesn't include any advice, but was part of the consensus that it is probably possible to do a new article.
- Ask for further advice from any of those people. Ask for help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games; that project is quite active and you'll probably get some. If the article is improved enough, any admin can remove the protection. They may say come back to deletion review, given the troubled history. I'm now the regular deletion review closer, so I would prefer to let some one else advice on the details in order to avoid prejudicing a future deletion review. GRBerry 02:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quick Question
You left, don't leave your username" on my talk page. I just wanted to ask you to do me a favor. I have made an article called "Michael curry Puppet Designer" and have ran out of energy to finish the page. The external link to the project list is on my external links there. Would you please complete it for me? ThanksMeldshal42 20:37, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- See WP:NOT#DIR. You probably only need a biography and then a link to the projects he's involved in except for perhaps a few significant ones. — Pious7TalkContribs 20:43, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank You
Thanks so much for creating the userbox! I would've created it, but I didn't have enough time this week. And may I say, great job on the userbox! Meldshal42.
[edit] Space Reorganization
I made a proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Space/Reorganisation#Space-related portal reorganization as part of the Space reorganization, as you seem to be the most active person there, I decided to bring it to your attention. — Pious7TalkContribs 11:26, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Wikipedia related articles
I suggest making a complete list of Wiki-related articles. After completed, it could be moved to a sub-page or possibly mainspace. A complete list would benefit the project. As a result, Wikipedians could add the essential articles to their watchlist and thus improve/maintain those articles. Regards, :) - Mr.Gurü (talk/contribs) 02:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- A category for all tagged articles is at Category:WikiProject_Wikipedia_articles, but not all have been tagged yet. — Pious7 02:22, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question
I have a question. How would you get your current signature with my user name? I would like it to be Meldshal42 and then 42 would link to my talk page. Can you show me what I would put to get this? Thanks a bunch, Meldshal42
- Go to "my preferences" on the upper right, which is in between "my talk" and "my watchlist." For the signature box, enter:
- '''<font color="blue">[[User:Meldshal42|Meldshal]]</font><font color="green">[[User_talk:Meldshal42|42]]</font>'''
- Then check the raw signature box and save preferences. Then when you enter ~~~~ you should get:
- If you have any questions about this, ask them at my talk page. — Pious7 02:20, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! Meldshal42 11:08, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Can you get the 42 to link to my talk page? Thanks, Meldshal42 11:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC) Sorry it already does Meldshal42 11:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pious could you do me a favour?
I need a second opinion on my rewriting of the plagarised material from Voyager Uranus science summary. Could you check the article against the various paragraphs cited by ref #40? Serendipodous 17:30, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Becoming the "ACID Director"
Is there a way in which you can take over in rolling the ACID collaboration? I did it for about 9 weeks, but then moved on. I'm now seeing that no one else has stepped up to the plate... yet. So, please reply on my talk page. Thank you! Diez2 12:28, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sure. What exactly does the director do? — Pious7 11:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ACID director
Sorry, I was away for a week. The ACID director's only job is to roll the collaboration every Wednesday at midnight UTC (7:00pm EST, tuesday night). Of course, nothing on Wikipedia is urgent and this can happen up to a day later than it should. The reason why I'm asking is that I've been starting to move on to other things, and the ACID is only slowing me down. Furthermore, (and I hate to say this) the ACID is getting fewer and fewer nominations probably because people only vote and never actually improve the article. The last article of ours promoted to FA status was Jupiter in February, but not because of the ACID (the collaboration on it was run in December). Anyway, thank you for taking over! Diez2 23:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- I was a day off on the timing, but I should be able to be more on time from now on. — Pious7 05:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] DC Meetup notice
Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Maryland, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 00:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
