[edit] Indigo April Kids

Excuse me, do you happen to have anymore information about these April kids? I was born on April 5th 1983 and I find this information you added rather intriguing. Thanks! DamianFinol

  • I think this concerned only Greece and that's why it's so difficult to evaluate here. Other than this I know almost nothing Pictureuploader 16:06, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
    • Any links about it you can spare? I tried checking those in the article but none said anything about them. Thanks DamianFinol 16:17, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
      • No, there is seldom any online feedback concerning Greek tv documentaries. All I can think about is contacting the TV station in www.alter.gr/contact.html (the address that concerns you is newsline@alter.gr). I guess they will understand an English e-mail; make sure you mention the appropriate persons and names of the article in your e-mail body so that you make clear to what you are referring. I can't guarantee they will reply of course. Pictureuploader 16:55, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] cut-and-paste moves

Please don't make new articles by cutting text from one article and pasting it into another, as you've done at Paris Latsis and Paris Kassidokostas. That disrupts the attribution of the writing. If an article needs to be moved, use the "move" function. In this case, the article doesn't need to be moved, as it most certainly belongs at Paris Latsis. We place articles at the most common names used to refer to people, whether or not you consider them "official", according to our established naming conventions. You should make any additions you think need to be made to the text at Paris Latsis. - Nunh-huh 08:50, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

  • It's not my consideration only. His father's name is Kassidokostas and in Greece he is known as Paris Kassidokostas. On a Greek TV show, an article from a foreign press was reproduced, as well as the name 'Paris Latsis'. His father who was on the phone line, felt the urge to clarify that his name is not Latsis, but Kassidokostas. So it's not a matter 'whether or not I consider it "official"'. Pictureuploader 12:18, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
    • The question is not how his father would prefer him to be referred to, or how he is referred to in Greece, but how the English-speaking world knows him. Millions of people will recognize the name Paris Latsis (281,000 Google hits); a handful will recognize Paris Kassidokostas (7 Google hits, most of them on Wikipedia) (and they'll say, oh, yeah, that's Paris Latsis's other name.) The naming conventions page explains this. If you feel motivated, you can certainly add information to his article regarding who calls him what. - Nunh-huh 20:15, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
      • I have no reason to doubt about Wikipedia policy. My motivation was that IMHO official, registered by the law, names, would surpass populary mistaken impressions (unless of course they are artistic pseudonyms or initials). Anyway It would be nice to have more oppinions on this. Pictureuploader 23:30, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of punk genres

Hey good work on organising and helping out on the List of punk genres - I recently made a template to combine it in a much more easily accessible table on each literary genre page of the -punk style. It would be great to see what you think or if you think it should be altered etc... Thanks in advance. Piecraft 06:18, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks and good work too. My ordering was only a proposal and I have serious doubts on some. For example I don't know where Biopunk should fit. Feel free to correct whatever you disagree. Note that also I have made separate articles on clockpunk and sandalpunk Pictureuploader 09:43, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed the new separate articles on clock and sandal - punk, it helps differentiate the sub-genres from the Steampunk article at least. I think the genres of Space and Bio - punk tend to be more based upon a future society developed from the "present" which could be any time really - therefore they should probably remain at the top. However I have moved Nazipunk under theme-based, seeing as Blitzpunk (which relates to the British culture druing WW2) is more or less similar - both occur with the same theme (i.e. WWII outcome) however may take place in different time periods as well. Piecraft 18:12, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Literary punk genres

Hey, sorry to bother you again but I'm trying to get a few people (myself included) to help out and expand and possibly find further sources for some of the articles in the literary punk genres, I know you've already contributed a lot on your behalf - but if you wish feel free to add any more. I'm not as familiar with certain genres like Clockpunk or Sandalpunk but am trying to make the other stubs like Stonepunk and Bronzepunk etc... into bigger and coherent articles - like the Dieselpunk one. At the same time I am also attempting to bring to light the importance of these themes and genres as literary and cinematic influences. This will take some time of course, at the moment I am having a debate regarding why Dark City should be listed on the Dieselpunk category at the Talk:Dark City. Anyway thanks again for all the help, and please don't hesitate to contact me or add or change anything as you see fit. Piecraft 20:40, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Monkey Island

Hi, the Monkey Island pages have all expanded nicely - but only because you decided to add more info to them. Your vision of the pages "growing" have not transpired (except 3 lines in CMI and 2 paragraphs in EMI), and as I see it, if you had decided to focus on rearranging the main Monkey page, you would have had the exact same result. That being said, good job on three fantastic games (and EMI). Poulsen 18:19, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Land

Thanks for the suggestion. All I could do was add one relevant sentence from the Michael Land article over to the Dig article. That, and I added a link to the complete OST, available free for download, which is probably more important. Do you think I need to say that it's public domain material now?

Also, I'm just curious, but do you know where Michael Land is now, or if he has any albums? I've loved his music--it has the same, really rare, humble-yet-happy emotion that a lot of Grateful Dead songs do and I would love to hear what he's composed on his own.

Thanks! --Zaorish 04:41, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Crossover fiction

Hi, Pictureuploader. I have nominated Category:Crossover fiction for deletion. There are currently no articles associated with this category, and there is no description of the category's purpose. If you wish, you can participate in the debate. -- Lbbzman 23:41, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] D'ni

Hey, sorry for the misunderstanding in the D'ni article. I had moved the guild lists to the "Culture" heading -- not deleted them -- and deleted what was there before, as it was set up to be mere duplication of game content. I didn't keep the "Guilds" heading because I think that section should/could get broader in the future.

I'm unsure as to the best place for the section within the article. Your rationale seemed to be chronologicality; mine was to keep non-timeline info out of the three timeline-esque sections. If you think it's particularly better your way, I won't revert another edit, I promise.  ;) SFT | Talk 17:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 1% for major edits and 38% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 13 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 02:31, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Link deletions

Anytime I see a user -- particularly an anon -- mass-adding links to a whole mess of articles, my assumption is that they are commercially motivated. Beyond that, Wikipedia is not a link repository. It's one thing to add a link that directly bears upon some point made in the article (that is to say, a reference), but it's a whole other ball of wax to just add links because some other site talks about the same subject. Wikipedia is not google, nor should we try to be. One of the most common problems I see with Wikipedia articles is that the amount of text in them is often outweighed by the number of links.

I typically find the mobygames links to be nearly useless too, but "we include this one useless link" isn't a reason to allow more to be added.

Hope that helps, Nandesuka 15:30, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Quest for glory edits

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

On 06-Mar, you blanked Logophobia. Blanking pages is generally considered a bad idea. I've reverted it to the previous version. If this was the result of a broken edit, you may wish to make the correct edits. If you believe the redirect should be deleted, please follow the redirect portion of the deletion procedures. If you believe an article should be written instead of the redirect, please write a stub. If you have questions, please let me know. Thanks! -- JLaTondre

[edit] Golden age

What is going on at Golden age? I can tell by things you have written elsewhere that you are either a native or near-native English speaker, but what you've added there reads like it was written by someone who barely knows the language. This mass of poorly written content obviously comes from somewhere, but you don't indicate where. Is it a translation from a different-language Wikipedia? If so, then unless you plan to actually work through the material soon (and I think I'm reasonable in suspecting that you are not, since it has been a week since you've touched it), this is really not the way to go about it. In particular if, as I'm guessing, this is machine translation, that's really a no-no. As it says unambiguously at WP:TIE, "Never use machine translation to create an article! (This doesn't mean you can't use machine translation as a tool, but it does mean that machine-translated material dumped into the English-language Wikipedia is worse than nothing.)" -- Jmabel | Talk 03:44, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Longest Journey

Why only Arcadia? --Koveras 14:41, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Only Arcadia what?? Pictureuploader 15:09, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
I mean, why have you only renamed Arcadia (The Longest Journey) to Arcadia (LJ) (there are also articles on the Balance and Stark that have those "(The Longest Journey)"-suffixes)? Although IMHO even that was unnessessary. --Koveras 21:37, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, now you mention it... that's a good idea Pictureuploader 21:47, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Just let me remind you, that the common abbreviation of the game's title is TLJ not LJ. --Koveras 22:40, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't know if it matters any more, but I fixed it to TLJ. Pictureuploader 09:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nobility as a virtue

I noticed that you have added nobility to the list of virtues. Could you please explain your reasoning behind this? According to my view, a virtue is a psychosocial characteristic, whereas nobility is a sociopolitical status. How do you define nobility as a virtue? Dominio 10:09, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I think while browsing in virtue-related articles, some of them listing several virtues and link to them, I was clicking on them and add to them the virtues category. Nobility was one of them, however you can guess that the link used the term in the metaphorical term, not the political one (eg. as in 'noble deed') Pictureuploader 10:49, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I will have to respectfully disagree that the concept of nobility should be categorized thusly, even in the metaphorical sense. The notion of moral "nobleness" seems as vague as the notion of moral virtuousness itself. The proposition of nobility being a virtue thus seems rather like claiming virtuousness itself being a virtue. In my opinion a moral notion needs to be a little more narrowly and specific in order to be usefully defined as a virtue. I will however leave the editing to you, should you agree with my point in this. Dominio 11:49, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Space Quest

Looking more closely at the edits, it seems that an apology is in order. I saw large swaths of content cleared, and I saw it as wholesale blanking. So my apologies. [edit] English dialects template

Ok, I guess that's fine :) Maybe we should split it into 2 different templates? I wouldn't classify pidgins & creoles as pseudo dialects. I think Internet slang, Hip-hop English, Valspeak, Globish etc, should be separated from the contact languages what do you think? LinguistAtLarge 23:13, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Here's another idea, maybe we should just add Pseudo-dialects and Pidgins/Creoles as sub-categories of the Template:English dialects template. LinguistAtLarge 23:15, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

What do you suggest the two categories be called? LinguistAtLarge 23:22, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Butchering the Charisma Article -- Please Be More Careful

Hello Pictureuploader -- I may have been a bit too snide and snippy when correcting your recent edits to the Charisma article, and I'm sorry about that. The pictures you picked were prety good, it's just that the captions you wrote were really messed up (you need to PROOFREAD and be more careful before you hit Save page!). Sometimes it helps to type things out in MSWord because that program can catch spelling errors and SOME problems with syntax, etc. Anyhow, I guess that's it. Sorry again for being rude. [edit] Paparizou

Actually, she not that active in Greece. Or sure, she active there, but she's not exclusively active there. She still lives, records and releases her music in Sweden as much as before and she has more then once stated that while she loves Greece, she regards Sweden to be her home and that she has no intensions to leave. Also, the birthplace only inticates ones birthplace. Like in the case of Melora Walters, her birthplace is Saudi Arabia. Her "Country" though is United Stades but if she for some reason had chosen to work in the UK, her country would still be United States. Just like any from abroad actor in Hollywood has their own nation stated as their "country". And no one would for example imagine calling Madonna british, despite the fact that she actually almost never leave England (except on tour). I understand your point, but it is unfortunately deeply flawed. (Djungelurban 22:01, 29 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Heaven

I originally wanted to place all the information under Judaism on the Heaven page, but in the article pertaining to Judaism, Seven Heavens links to Seventh Heaven. As such, I feel it absurd that there only be a page on the seventh Heaven; furthermore, the Islam section features suras that are inclusive of all heavens. Provided Seven Heavens redirects to Seventh Heaven, I feel the inclusion of information about the other six Heavens is warranted personally, lest we make a Seven Heavens page; I would view that, however, as rather detrimental as the Seventh Heaven truly doesn't have such a great deal of information to demand a page alone for it. (Jordan Yang 29 June 2006)

Would you like the keep the information on the Seven Heavens in the Seventh Heaven article? I still see it as integral to talk about the other six Heavens before culminating into the Seventh Heaven. I mean, after all, there is a scant amount of information on it. The Qu'ran never speaks of the Heavens alone but collectively; the Bible, meanwhile, doesn't even speak of the seven Heavens and I suppose it is not a widespread topic in Christianity. The only information that is found about them is within Jewish mysticism and mythology. (Jordan Yang 29 June 2006)

I will try, but as I've stated, most of this comes from legends and isn't official or the like; I do, however, thank you for the cooperation in helping me edit religious articles, for I am usually met with disenchanted users, especially on the Azrael page. (Jordan Yang 29 June 2006)

That is correct. The omnipedia can use information copied directly from spacequest.net and wikipedia cannot. The omnipedia has recieved full permission from Frans (the owner of spacequest.net) to use such information, however they tag it all with a catagory to ensure it is all recognisable as work originating from spacequest.net. Frans has not given his permission for his work to be used on wikipedia, and it therefore cannot be used here. You could always request permission, however it is unlikely that Frans would agree. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Castration.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Castration.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Quest for Glory III Character Importing

From QFG III onwards, if I remember correctly, and maybe even II, you have the option to change your class when importing a character. It's not strictly a bug, you're given the option that "if you do not feel this is the correct class" you can set it to a different type. Some of your stats will carry over, some will be set to the minimum for that class, etc. In addition, you can sometimes import characters from the same game into itself, such as QFGIV, although all of your stats will be restricted to the maximum from the last game. This also allows you to access all of the Paladin quests without beating a previous game.--BigCow 16:38, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

I have always been able to convert my character to a different class at the start of QfG III and IV. I'd normally play a thief in I and II, as thieves get to do more, and then make the switch to what I want to play in III, as thieves suck in what they can do in III. I've always had III and IV from the Quest for Glory Anthology, so maybe when they were separate they didn't have the feature?--Bedford 17:05, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

You are correct you can change your classes between the second and third games (In fact I have even had the game do it for me automaticly because I played more like a wizzard than a fighter). You can also change your class before the fourth game and even before the fifth game. Andrew D White 21:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't know if you are reading this, but I am quite sure the game actually asks for JUSTIFICATION if the conversion was done right. It was just offering a secondary checking, not an OPTION to change the class. Pictureuploader 17:18, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes it does let you change your class. Although I agree that it is probally for the reason you stated above. The exact wording is your character has been imported as a <character class>. If you do not feel this is the proper profession, please indicate your preference below... If you want a screen shot(or movie of changing class) of it let me know.Andrew D White 02:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
There was a bug in the initial release of QFGII where all characters were automatically imported as fighters. This feature of QFG3 was probably meant to prevent that problem.--Bedford 04:01, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Golden Age

Hey, do we have any progress on this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pictureuploader (talkcontribs) 24 August 2006.

I said in my comment at that time "Real translation from the corresponding German language article would be welcome, but this was a liability." I then made a request at Wikipedia:German-English translation requests, but it seems no one has acted on it. If you want to move it forward, and your own German-English translation skills aren't up to the task, that would be the place to ask, or you might recruit someone at Wikipedia talk:German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. - Jmabel | Talk 23:58, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] D'ni Unicode

Hi, you appear to be a Myst avid. Do you know if anyone has made a proposal for the D'ni script and numerals to be included in the ConScript Unicode Registry, so we can use Unicode instead of badly working fonts? If not, do you have any idea how to contact the community on this to further this proposal? -- Jordi· 11:39, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Xenoarchaeology

Hi, Pictureuploader! What do you think of the way the xenoarchaeology article is coming along? Steve 06:45, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

  • I hope to make the science fiction element of the article a bit better, but the subject is a lot broader than that, bringing together several fields of inquiry. The SETI material is relevant where it deals with searches for extraterrestrial artefacts ... the ancient astronaut and face on mars stuff is kooky, but as it's largely up to archaeologists to refute (or rather to test) those claims, they're relevant too. Steve 09:10, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Oh, and this might interest you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Stephen_Wilson/Userbox/ξένος Steve 23:31, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Actually, none of the uses of xenoarchaeology I've come across limit the field to off-earth study - the references to exoarchaeology do, however. The uses of xenoarchaeology do limit themselves to aliens ... which brings up a problem: where to put information on human exoarchaeology? They don't belong in an article called xenoarchaeology Steve 13:28, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
        • I think I'm going to post something about terminology over on Xenoarchaeology/talk and ask for feedback. I'll go through the sources I have and tally up usage or something Steve 00:53, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tolkien and racism

"Weasel words" are better than unsubstantiated nonsense claims. Aside from some insane rants I can't find any source for these statements, so I was initially tempted to delete them (as I did with the utter nonsensical "brown Hobbit racism" bit). I'll put in some fact claims then. -- Jordi· 10:37, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Mad'House

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mad'House, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mad'House seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mad'House, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Eilonwy.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Eilonwy.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:57, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Trapbook.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Trapbook.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wizardman 19:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Solitude.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Solitude.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Daventry (King's Quest)

Daventry (King's Quest), an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Daventry (King's Quest) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daventry (King's Quest) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Daventry (King's Quest) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] your revert at J. R. R. Tolkien

please see WP:RS and WP:UNDUE. If you can trace the opinion to a notable publication, fine. As long as you can just cite random web pages, there is no way we'll keep it. There are many volumes of published secondary literature on Tolkien's biography and influences, and we have to be choosy about mentioning these because we simply cannot mention everybody who's ever voiced an opinion on the matter. In view of this, covering blog postings or internet ministries is completely out of the question. dab (𒁳) 13:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orthodox Eschatology

In every religious group there exists a full spectrum of members from ultra-liberals to ultra-conservatives. I am not familiar with ELKIS and cannot directly comment on them, however, in general, Orthodoxy is best suited to the middle path. I, myself, am an Old Calendarist with serious criticisms of the ecumenist movement within the New Calendar Church, however, I am not aligned with those fanatics who would imagine that they are the only Orthodox left on the planet. I am moderate. The Orthodox Church has always been moderate. That is not to say there is compromise, no, but rather that one must consider the circumstances of any religious position in relation to the modern world. God is good. He touches us through the use of the material world. The Orthodox do not consider material substance to be evil (like some Protestants), therefore how can technology be evil. Rather it is what you do with technology. As far as groups like ELKIS, they have little meaning in relation to the Church as a whole and it is not prudent that they (and every other little fanatical group) be mentioned in an encyclopedic venue. If, however, you wish to write a separate article specifically about them, please do so.--Phiddipus (talk) 16:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Dejardins.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Dejardins.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --22:46, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
