Talk:Peter Sculthorpe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dysprosia, yes you're right, music evokes, scores simply direct, I was a bit sloppy there. As to most famous, maybe? One of the most famous, definitely. Clarkk
Most famous in Aus, I mean... I mean you think of Australian composer, you think of Sculthorpe... Dysprosia 10:05, 11 Mar 2004 (UTC)
I rated this article as mid-importance, as Sculthorpe is Australia's best-known living composer, one of its National Treasures, etc. The article has some good information in it, but is (1) not very thorough and (2) is very informally written. Ckerr 15:13, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Private Life
I've read a lot about Sculthorpe, but have never seen a single word about his private life. Is he married? Does he have children? Is he gay? Is there anything on the public record about this? JackofOz 10:15, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
He is married, he does have children but zealously guards his privacy and never submits to interviews about his family and loved ones. There has been speculation about Sculthorpe having homosexual preferences, but this is unsubstantiated and is not more than rumour. Meow meow - purr purr (talk) 03:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually I just found an article by Tasmanian Gay Rights Advocate Rodney Croome who got in some hot water over publicly that Sculthorpe and another unconnected Tasmanian Artist were actually homosexual. After receiving written complaints from both artists he printed his retraction on his website: http://www.rodneycroome.id.au/weblog?id=C10_23_1 Meow meow - purr purr (talk) 03:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Fixed. And - enough of the "wtf" stuff please. If there isn't information there, do your research and ADD it! Meow meow - purr purr (talk) 03:57, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
