i readded the citation and added into the sentence that he "claims to have..." Since this article has been subjected to editing on the subject and i think this is the best way to handle the situation though i'll look for further sources. --AlexOvShaolin 23:07, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 'sampler'

While TG may have used alot of homemade gear, they didn't have a sampler in the digital sense. The box that was referenced here was a series of tape players connected to keys, a very primitive version of the early 1960s Mellotron, Chamberlin etc. Calling it a sampler is definitely misleading, as it wasn't really an innovation (certainly ludicrous to compare it to the Fairlight which was a computer system). We have personal email from Peter that we have quoted about his work with Hipgnosis - both what he did and didn't. How to we provide citations for this?

Also, he very much believes that his tape-based sampler was a true "sampler" and should be referenced as his use of it during this days with Throbbing Gristle was ground-breaking and pre-dated the common use of samplers as Mellotrons were not common (if invented yet) and it pre-dates the Fairlight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Austere (talk • contribs) 23:01, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
