Petronia is the name of a genus of sparrows, also known as rock sparrows
There are five species:
- Yellow-spotted Petronia Petronia pyrgita
- Chestnut-shouldered Petronia Petronia xanthocollis (also sometimes known as Yellow-throated Sparrow)
- Yellow-throated Petronia Petronia superciliaris
- Bush Petronia Petronia dentata
- Rock Sparrow Petronia petronia
Pale Rockfinch is sometimes referred to as Pale Rock Sparrow; it is, however, in a genus of its own, Carpospiza.
