Patricio Javier Urrutia Espinoza, nicknamed Pato (born 15 October 1977) is an Ecuadorian footballer of international distinction. A central midfielder for the Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, he was chosen to be part of Ecuador's team in the World Cup games in Germany in 2006. His appointment to the Ecuadorian squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup raised a few eyebrows mainly because his last international appearance was against Brazil in 2004.
Urrutia is a midfielder with good passing skill and a great help to the Ecuadorian national team. He came as a substitute for Agustin Delgado in the 2006 World Cup games against Poland and Costa Rica, where they won 2-0 and 3-0 respectively, securing a historic qualification to the round of sixteen.
He was also called up for the 2007 Copa América. He scored the only goal of the game in a friendly match against Bolivia from the penalty spot on 22 August 2007. That match was to prepare for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Urrutia has been a prominent figure for his club, LDU Quito. He scored five goals for Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito in the Copa Libertadores 2006 helping them reach the quarterfinals.
