Passin' Thru is the fourth studio album by James Gang, released in 1972.
This was the first album after guitarist and vocalist Joe Walsh left and was replaced by the singer Roy Kenner and guitarist Domenic Troiano, who left the band after "Straight Shooter" and was replaced with ex-Zephyr guitarist Tommy Bolin, who helped revitalize the band.
James Gang's original members Dale Peters, who did bass and background vocals, and Jim Fox, who played drums and organ, are on "Passin' Thru." Don Rodney Vaughan, Ph.D. in Mass Communication, writes that "Drifting Girl," the last cut on the album, "is one of the most beautiful and poignant songs ever recorded by a rock and roll band. DG should have peaked at least on the lower Top 40, but did not make even an ephemeral appearance on Billboard's Hot 100."
