[edit] Operation Blue Eagle
Operation Blue Eagle was a mission to capture an Abu Sayyaf leader in Panglima Sugala by CIA agents, European agents (allegedly) and Philippine Marines. The operation started by besieging a camp allegedly used by Islamic militants, and it was also the suspected hiding place of an Abu Sayyaf leader. Though European agents, CIA agents and Philippine Marines encountered Abu Sayyaf militants they found no Abu Sayyaf leader. An Indonesian Soldier was also captured by a European (Dutch) agent who was caught firing upon CIA agents and Philippine forces in the rebel camp. The Indonesian Army claimed that they were trying to capture a Jemaah Islamiyah high ranking officer. The Indonesian soldier claims that he and his battalion came by helicopter.
