Palm Springs are a British independent band from Brighton, comprising DC Cane (lead vocals, guitar, drums, percussion, piano, melodica, glockenspiel, VL Tone, keyboards), Jon Russo (guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, piano, melodica, glockenspiel, VL Tone, stylophone, keyboards, samples, programming, backing vocals), Grant Allardyce (drums, percussion), Neil Cantwell (piano), Mark Jesson (cello), Kah (backing vocals) and Paul Pascoe (guitar, bass guitar, backing vocals).

Established in 2004 with a firm DIY ethic - ("put off today what you can do tomorrow") and persevere without instructions or guidance - the band writes, records and releases records. The first single Tender Remains was published in August 2004. Followed by the 7" records Echo of Me in September 2005 and Softly to Fallen in June 2006.
It was not until March 2007, when the first album No Hurt Like A Broken Heart was released. The so far most successful single I Start Fires was published in October 2007. Another 7" called Blood and Water, which was recorded to honor the editor of the German Rolling Stone Magazine Wolfgang Doebeling, will hit the stores in the summer of 2008. The second album is supposed to follow in the autumn of 2008.

Palm Springs describe their world to be "acoustic, melancholic and slightly car boot". Their music has a number of influences, to which by their own account belong Lee Hazlewood and Scott Walker, but also Massive Attack, Johnny Cash, Serge Gainsbourg, The Beach Boys and Brigitte Bardot. Additionally to the standards, the band makes use of instruments such as Melodica, Glockenspiel, Casio_VL-1 and Stylophone.
