Paljas is a South African film, in the language of Afrikaans released in 1998. Paljas was written by Chris Barnard and directed by Katinka Heyns.

The film was submitted for the 70th Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, the first South African submission since the end of Apartheid. The film won five awards at the 1997 M-Net All Africa Film Awards.

The story is about the family of a station master in a small town in the Karoo, whose life is changed when a travelling circus leaves a mime behind in town.
