Pakenham Secondary College is situated approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Melbourne. Established in 1968 providing education to a largely rural community the school now enrols 1183 students from an urban community. It is currently undergoing a six stage development project, which will see the building of a new $3.5 million VCE student complex and the population peak at 1800.

In 2003, three year 11 students at the school won awards in the Southern Adult Mental Health Service's "Mental Health Awareness Competition". ^[1]

In 2006, the College was in the final three of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge, it was placed 2nd at the Melbourne Open Grand Final 2006, with their show 'Gaia'. The college has been promoted up to the Premier Division for 2007.

In 2003, the boy's netball team and girl's football team were named state champions. The boy's netball team succeeded in beating 95 other schools in the State of Victoria to defeat Wheelers Hill in the final. The girl's football overcame 135 competing schools to defeat Essendon-Keilor Secondary College team in the finals of that year.^[2]

In 2005, the College scored second place in the Victorian Interschool Equestrian Challenge.^[3]

Modernisation - Stage 3 of 3 redevelopment - General Purpose Classroom, Arts, Science and Technology Studies, Staff administration and Student Toilets. Project cost of $6,680,000 approved in 2006/2007
Flexible Learning Centre (refurbishment). Project cost of $500,000 (part of the Leading Schools Fund announced in 03/04)
