Pakanasink Elementary School is one of four in the Pine Bush Central School District, which serves students from not only the Orange County hamlet of Pine Bush and the Town of Crawford but adjacent areas in Sullivan and Ulster counties as well. It is located north of another hamlet, Circleville, in the Town of Wallkill, also served by the district. It is adjacent to Circleville Middle School, and both are a short distance across NY 302 from Circleville Elementary School, and is home to the district's swimming pool. It is being expanded after district voters approved a $28 million bond issue in 2002. The old principal has just retired, and the school just had an update for new classes on the first floor.The school is now saving up money for the new playground!
