Pacelli High School is a private secondary school located on the north side of Stevens Point, Wisconsin in the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Crosse. Pacelli High School--named in honor of Pope Pius XII-- was founded in 1955 by Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, which has operated schools, colleges and universities in 81 countries for over 300 years. Originally an all-boys high school, Pacelli merged with the all-girls Maria High School in the early 1970s to create a co-ed, Catholic high school offering a rigorous college-prep curriculum. Pacelli became part of the Stevens Point Area Catholic Schools when consolidation of all the Catholic schools took place in 1986. (For more on the history of the school, see The History of Pacelli High School.)
