Ortigas MRT Station is a station on the Manila MRT Blue Line (MRT-3). The station is one of the many elevated stations that can be found on the line. The station is located in the Mandaluyong portion of Ortigas Center and is named after either Ortigas Center or Ortigas Avenue, which is nearby.
Ortigas Station is the eighth station for trains headed to North Avenue and the sixth station for trains headed to Taft Avenue.
The station is near popular landmarks, such as St. Pedro Poveda College, an all-girls school; Robinson's Galleria and SM Megamall, two major shopping malls; a Holiday Inn hotel at Robinson's Galleria; and some of the offices of JG Summit Holdings and Robinson's Land Corporation.
[edit] Transportation links
Buses, jeepneys and taxis serve the MRT Station, but passengers may board them from either Robinson's Galleria (buses, jeepneys, taxis) or SM Megamall (buses, taxis). Buses ply both EDSA and Ortigas Avenue routes, while jeepneys ply along Ortigas Avenue for routes heading to Pasig City and Rizal Province to the east, and San Juan City and City of Manila to the west.
