Ormea is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 km south of Turin and about 40 km southeast of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,904 and an area of 124.5 km².[1]
The municipality of Ormea contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Viozene, Chionea, Ponte di Nava, Bossieta, Prale, Barchi, Eca, Albra, Villaro, Valdarmella, Chioraira, and Quarzina.
Ormea borders the following municipalities: Alto, Armo, Briga Alta, Caprauna, Cosio di Arroscia, Frabosa Soprana, Garessio, Magliano Alpi, Nasino, Pornassio, Roburent, and Roccaforte Mondovì.
