The Orlando Weekly is a weekly independent paper distributed in the Greater Orlando area of Florida. It typically covers news about local bands, the arts, city politics (Orlando and suburban), restaurant reviews, and advertising for assorted businesses. Editorially, the paper positions itself as covering issues and angles opposing the Orlando Sentinel. In recent years, the paper has also been critical of the anti-homeless laws passed in Orlando [2], the 2007 venues deal [3] and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (a local multi-agency vice unit). In 2007, the MBI staged a raid that arrested three advertising agents for "supporting prostitution:" the paper considers this act retaliation for past negative coverage of the agency [4].
On Feb. 27, 2008, Orlando Weekly and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation reached an agreement in principle ending the criminal case. Agreement with MBI
