Operation Joint Guardian

Operation Joint Guardian was a military operation that occurred inside the region of Kosovo, located inside the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The operation involved peacekeepers from the United Nations, but the peacekeepers were under the command of NATO. The operation began June 10, 1999 when the NATO/UN force, KFOR, entered Kosovo and protected[citation needed] the civilian population there from the Serbian forces, under the control of Slobodan Milošević.
