[edit] Goal
The goal of the project is to build an open source ERP according the model-driven software development (MDSD) paradigm, derived from model-driven architecture (MDA).
[edit] What is OpenBlueLab ?
Open Blue Lab aims at providing a complete ERP full web portal, open source, based on Unified Modeling Language UML models. Generated through the MDA approach, a Cocoon Reference implementation is currently available. Others implementations like JSF, PHP Ajax, .Net will be developed according wishes and votes expressed on the mailing lists.
OpenBlueLab project's ambition is to provide an application which you can adapt easily by just updating UML models contained in the OpenBlueLab download, without writing any line of code. |
OpenBlueLab is currently being used to develop a full Web ERP from scratch. Portal layout may be configured through the UI, Ajax and HTML-based forms are automatically built from XML widget definitions, which may be generated on the fly from a UML model that describes your information system. Widgets are dynamically populated, making them data-aware automatically at run time with no need to code any database interaction.
This framework allows you to focus on Information System design, with forms and portal architecture being generated automatically.
OpenBlueLab is an alternative solution, Open Source (GPL), to the main proprietary ERP editors, like SAP ERP, Oracle Applications, Cegid, ... or to the other ERP editors, saying they are Open Source or not.
OpenBlueLab is based on models, described with UML.
