[edit] Definition
An online web community or online mobile community may be defined as a virtual space (social media) created by members, using appropriate social software provided and managed by the owner of the service, where all participants have at least one purpose to consume, generate and interact with content (user generated content) or interact with other members (social networking).
Definition proposed by the Swedish online community expert Hans Leijström, who is working at Trive AB).
The virtual space may be provided on the web alone or on a mobile channel or a combination of both. Each channel has its own unique value attributes and integration of both channels will create unique values and user experiences.
