Omgba Bissogo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Omgba Bissogo was an Ewondo ruler who, during the colonial period in Cameroon in 1895, led a rebellion against forces of the German Empire. Omgba Bissogo was head of the Ewondo Mvog Ottou sublineage.[1] Bissogo and his forces surprised the Germans and won their initial skirmishes. However, the Germans responded with a strike on the Mvog Ottou. Bissogo was arrested and imprisoned in the German station at Jaunde (present-day Yaoundé).[2]
